SHOUT OUT! D collection
A huge shout out to the Weeklydrop sneaker crew for turning me on to the WSJ article about a premiere Comics lot known as the infamous D collection. The mythos surrounding this Comics holy grail skyrocketed in the past twenty years and escalated their existence to a level of biblical proportions. It turns out the D collection isn’t a fabricated hustle crafted by Comics fanboys!
At the Comicazi shop, the article ignited an in-depth conversation on the science of collecting Comics that will be published as a two issue podcast mini-series. Be sure to get the lowdown with part one of our discussion when Comicazi Issue No.2 releases next week!

I am most fascinated by the cypher!
Which reminds me… its worth noting that when I went to college, MY mother did NOT sustain my comic collection. Rather, she gave them away and/or sold them at various garage sales.
Imagine my surprise when I got a place of my own, and ’sent for my things.’
All the original TMNTs, The Shadows, Punisher, Wolverine, Batman: Dark Knight, Vigilante….gone.
So, big props go out to the D Collector’s mom!
Another thing worth commending her for is that she dropped the case against that other guy! Did he do it? Of course. But, they are still getting over 2 million dollars and it’s kind of bonus money, like stocks or something. They couldn’t have known they [the comics] were going to pay off like that. They were just humoring an old collector’s oddities.

I was following this a couple months ago when the auction was first announced, but have missed any recent developments. Sucks that I’d need a WSJ login to read this. I’ll have to look elsewhere.
