[...] A couple of months back I hit you with some Hero Revelations about a new show on NBC called Heroes. The show is hot and I’m pretty confident in saying that Lost has a solid competitor for best in show on television. The official Heroes fanstite, 9th Wonders was created for fans to get some clue from the creators and writers of the show, rap in the forums, etc, etc. Out of that has sprung a tight weekly netcast dubbed The 9th and is crafted by fans for the fans. It’s over at Heroescast.com and their first episode drops science on the first three weeks of Heroes and what’s been poppin’ in the storyline. Get down with The 9th over at Heroescast.com — tell them I sent you! Bahlactus has spoken. Posted in the shout out! category. [...]

An ordinary man, woman, or child will encounter a scenario that challenges their whole comprehension of reality and manifests powers that expose their true identity.

This is the Biggest thing, right in that verse. Ordinary people, and i'm going to use this as an example.
One day a man wakes up, after a major life change. He feels broken, yet he feels energized at the same time. He has lost what seems to be Everything....he sits down at his desk, it is raining out, the window is open a crack, suddenly he begins to write...and his pen just hardly leaves the paper, thoughts PUSH into his head almost as if someone Bigger is Shoving them into his head and he is left with an unstoppable urge to GET IT OUT!
Suddenly he is challenged, however it came naturally.
His pain, this point in his life, created this. He doesn't understand HOW he wrote an entire BOOK, anymore than a musician doesn't always know where THe Music comes from, it just does.
To me that is Extraordinary.
Imagine a Superhero that Never Uses his/her power. Now that would be a waste.
What I'm saying, is we ALL have that 'ability' to do something Grande! We just havn't all been presented the opportunity to LEAP with it, but do trust, that it WILL happen, so Do Be Prepared!

Heroes! Solid.
I like the idea of our Super Powers being within our realm of physical (also social, emotional) possibilities. Such as speaking up against opression, poverty, injustice. Sometimes, very simple actions are so overwhelmingly opposed at large, that people are compelled to apathy. Forgiveness is one. The power to Forgive!
And, these powers, that we possess can be used for Ultimate Good or Evil. Think of how withholding forgiveness from someone who has apologized genuinely, keeps them under the thumb. Keeps them in bondage.

These are my final thoughts as I slowly head towards my bed. In Australia, someone told me, that people who stick their necks out. People who try their best despite the mediocrity of their peers suffer from "Tall Poppy Syndrome." As in, when a flower, exceeds the normal height in a bed of flowers, exceeds the status quo, it is trimmed back, cut off. Decapitated. Why? Because they make everyone look bad? Because others are afraid they'll have to work harder, meet higher expectations?

I say, those of us that feel the aspirations to grow and push past where others have stopped, need the support. Perhaps, all the tall poppies need armor-plated stalk collars. Try and cut that!
