Black lightning and Arsenal are my two favorite additions to the new team. It’s really cool that he declined membership all those years ago and now he’s backon the team.

  2. Jeff Munson Says:

You just wait my friends, because another hero will be joining them (hopefully soon) and that someone is Geo - Force! His little cameo in issue # 4 is just the beginning because I know that was him on the last page of JSA #1 where Batman, and Sandman, Starman and an unidentifed (by Geoff Johns) league member are standing outside Arkham Asylum. I am telling you, it doesn’t get much better than a Ttitan and two of the Outsiders as JLA members. Now all we need is Cyborg to actually join Arsenal on the team (as they have hinted) and my JLA roster would be close to completion (Nightwing and Donna Troy would have to join for my Geekasm to be complete)

By the way, I don’t think BL is really the power forward type, I see him as a running back myself!

There is a small pool of solid black male heroes that can stand toe-to-toe with the big three — of them, Black Lightning is turning out to be right on time. Eyes on the Prize, Munson. Eyes on the prize :)

  5. Loren Says:

God! How much do I love seeing Black Lightning standing tall and proud with the DC’s holy trinity! I’m so glad that he’s in the new JLA…although, I kind of wish that he maintained his old look a bit more than he has. I see Black Lightning as an iconic character in his own right. I think it’s okay to make him look different, but, let’s stop with the costume changes already!

[…] Eyes On The Prize - Black Lightning, JLA #4 - Who’s that standing with the big 3? (from Always Bet On Bahlactus) […]

And it is all the more awesome that he looks perfectly natural (and incredibly bad-ass) in a suit and trench. Class. ‘Cause not many others can work the plainclothes hero look. The Question, maybe. You could say Constantine, but he’s atypical anyway. So is Dr. Occult, for that matter. Chances are that someone will put him back in tights, but I’m digging the straight-no-chaser stance while I can.

  8. Garth Says:

Looks like Black Lightning won’t be wearing the trenchcoat for long…
