Bahlactus (n). (bə-LAK-təs). 1. A streetwise, urban anomaly in the comic book universe. 2. A phenomenon which devours all things Comics. 3. A Comics Entity with a compelling vibe charged with raising aesthetic awareness to the next level. 4. Every. Goddamn. Third. Monday. In. February. 5.Earth tastes a lot like cupcakes.

Gosh, I love these three comics. (And “The Trial of Reed Richards” that sprung from them.)
Say what you will about John Byrne–and I often do–you can’t deny he did an amazing Galactus Trilogy, too.
I always felt Marvel should do an Essential Galactus book: all the pertinent FF major storylines, that Supervillain Classics origin book, plus the last issue of the Hercules miniseries (which I really gotta review one of these days as it is a really fun comic.) Although we’ll never see that book, you’re givin’ up the next best thing, big dude. Gracias from planet Earth and a tiny, tiny stuffed bull.

Bully, I’m glad you’re enjoying my journey into GALACTUS, bruh! You’re right, Marvel is slippin’ considerably when it comes to giving the devourer his proper dues. At least people can get down vicariously through the personal collection I’m assembling. See you at the fights!

DAAAAMMMNNN!!!!! I hate it when I miss these great ass posts with comicbooks I can relate to. Clarence, I had stopped reading comics for awhile and it was John Byrne’s run on FF that got me reading again until today. Aside from the “fantastic” 5 year run on the title, that Galactus story, with Reed declaring that we have to save Galactus, along with the epic battle with the FF, Spider-man, Daredevil, Dr. Strange and the Avengers, this arc was historic and Byrne’s art was incredible. I’ve got a picture to show you man. This carving is in my rec room at home standing at 6 feet tall on wood. Here’s the link: Notice how I placed a certain wall crawler into the picture that’s not on the original?
