In the comics Blade wasn't half vampire, he also actually had a personality to go along with his fighting skills, so that was also a plus. Add into the fact that he payed the bills by playing Jazz, and you got yourself a true Dark Star. I also prefer the comic version of Blade rather than the Daywalker movie version. And that opening sequence was too tight for words (too bad the flick wasn't quite as coolly stylized as the opening sequence).
