Back in March, Friday Night Fights began with one solid punch to the grill. The whole scenario helped foster some great interactions with the Comics blogger community at large. Each week more and more contenders have been jumping in the ring. After the first 12 rounds (there are only 12 rounds in boxing), we took a break and reflected with a Tale of the Tape. Two weeks later, a new round of was in effect — Friday Night Fights - Uppercut!!!

Tonight, Friday Night Fights - Uppercut!!! Round 4 touches down in the squared-circle. As usual, I throw the first punch between 6PM and 7PMEST. Looking to keep my social life intact, the Announcer has stipulated that comments will remain closed until 10PMEST at which time he begins to highlight the hurtin’ bombs that the contenders begin to drop. Will you be ready? Or will you get sucka-punched in the grill?

In the past year I created, hosted, and produced a Comics podcast called Comicazi that ran for 15 solid issues — it was recorded at my local Comics shop and is a worthwhile listen for anyone interested in Comics. This is a solid collection that I’m building — first appearances of every Black superhero or villian that has appeared in Marvel and DC mainstream continuity. Why bother? Honestly I was under the impression that there weren’t a lot of Black heroes and villains; digging further I discovered quite a few characters in the mix and it’s a worthwhile adventure collecting all these Black characters and stories. This collection covers my obsession with the devourer. Collecting every appearance of GALACTUS is a challenge and I’m digging the adventure. It’s an ambitious goal and every time I get down with a new issue I scan the cover and document the new addition. Every once in a hot-minute i’ll include page scans and appearance review as well.
