SHOUT-OUT! Bahlactus Devours!!!

Tuesday, October 30th, 2007

A Comic strip about a Comics shop. You buy them every week. They sell them to you. The Rack, a webcomic masterminded by Kevin Church and drawn by Benjamin Birdie is one of the hottest strips running. Get down with their latest adventure, which features a week-long story called Halloweek™ — (guest artists all this week!!!! Cats like Marcos Perez and Pat Lewis). I wonder who else they will feature. You should also check out their cult movie throwback wallpaper. Why are you still here? Stop in on the Yavin IV Comics crew now!!! Bahlactus has spoken.

Ragnell could pull out the drink

and Jimmy Olsen’s Blues be good ’till it’s relevant,

SUCKA-PUNCH!!!

Like it’s heaven sent!!!

Tripping over dead presidents, Baddie’s got these derelicts,

Siskoid’s throw was down with Munson’s business,

Dorian tryin’ to clown and Bully get a cent,

And so rather than stand forever, Doctor K’s been thinking,

Drinking over a felony,

and hell of Collected Editions and how it would be some other Hero Sandwich,

Semantic Drift telling Slay, Monstrobot of the Deep to cool out,

But Number 9 ain’t feeling Dem’s Good Readin’!!!

A mutha-hubbard Bitter Andrew ’bout,

Comic Treadmill’s funky cheddar cheese,

And it pleases, passion of SpaceBooger,

Thuggin’ huggin’ plenty comes Destiny’s Garden!!!

And laughing while Woody pass through times,

And Comics Ate My Brain is a back-stabber, and watchin’ Ninja Shark Bites,

Just keep it plain — Sucka-Punch!!!

Selective Continuity will keep it the same, nucka,

Grebok-Sod just takes it the simple game!!!

Great Caesar’s Post can pinkle with Secret Earths twinkling,

Enough to hold, til’ it’s is old and wrinklin’!!!

To be worrying,

Cuz Church‘ll be illin’,

Fullfillin’ a Friday Night passion,

Bodies getting buried by,

Sims’s THUG PASSION!!!

SHOUT-OUT! Bahlactus Devours!!!

Wednesday, October 24th, 2007

Have you ever stopped to think about why, since you could actually read, have you been getting down with Comics. Endless dollars spent, issues traded, collected, cherished — a necessary and absolute part of your life? One of the main reasons I collect Comics today is not for the art, or the writing, but the entertainment value of a medium that can be reinterpreted, mashed-up, and reused (this concept has birthed original flavored content on my site like Friday Night Fights).

Whenever I come across another Comics blog that is not just another Comics news rehash, I take notice. Whether they are a high-profile Comics blogger, or an unknown (like Bahlactus), I crate dig their content and see what they are about. Today that cosmic find is Nad Shot. Naturally, this post stopped me in my tracks — immediately I issued a challenge for Comics blogger Mediozo to get down with Friday Night Fights…I can only hope he steps into the squared circle (if he does, guaranteed some of you cats are in for a beating).

In the meantime, get your ro-sham-bo! on and check out Nad Shot. You might learn (or at least feel something). Bahlactus has spoken.

Olsen Smash?!?

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2007

Just over a decade after the first appearance of The Hulk, Jimmy Olsen (a.k.a. Jack Kirby made me awesome) rocks the green skin in the Fourth World.

Everything about this Jimmy Olsen has inspired me to cast aside my usual degradation of the character in favor of promoting Kirby’s handle of Superman’s Pal. This type of Comics bravado stinks of 80’s hip-hop — next-level and to the limit!!!

I know quite a few of you cats who are fans of Comics also dig Jimmy Olsen, so drop some clue on me — Kirby’s Olsen? over any other? My money is on the green-blooded Clolsen. Bahlactus has spoken.
