Olsen Smash?!?

Just over a decade after the first appearance of The Hulk, Jimmy Olsen (a.k.a. Jack Kirby made me awesome) rocks the green skin in the Fourth World.

Everything about this Jimmy Olsen has inspired me to cast aside my usual degradation of the character in favor of promoting Kirby’s handle of Superman’s Pal. This type of Comics bravado stinks of 80’s hip-hop — next-level and to the limit!!!

I know quite a few of you cats who are fans of Comics also dig Jimmy Olsen, so drop some clue on me — Kirby’s Olsen? over any other? My money is on the green-blooded Clolsen. Bahlactus has spoken.

That’s actually a picture of a Jimmy Olsen clone, but yes — Kirby’s Jimmy was awesome. Basically, Kirby introduced Jimmy to “The Project,” a secret government lab outside Metropolis that was deep into genetic engineering and cloning — and surrounded by hippies and bikers. There was also a rival lab, the Evil Factory, run by Darkseid’s minions. (Darkseid made his first appearance in one of these issues.) The Kirby issues are collected in two paperbacks, and they’re also part of the big Fourth World hardcover reprint series. Well worth your time, I think.

Tom, true, I did acknowledge the cloneism apparent as Clolsen in my post ;) I think I am almost at the Darkside appearance. What is the deal with this cat Flippa-Dippa?!? He never takes those fins off!!! ‘Preciate you stoppin’ through, Tom. See you in the squared-circle on Friday :)
