Friday, November 9th, 2007

How many of you cats that get down with Friday Night Fights also come through during the week (and check out non-fight-night content)? Are you digging the original flavor that gets posted to the site? What would you love to see here? Do like Fifty Sez and come back for more than gettin’ knocked out!!! Bahlactus has spoken.

SHOUT-OUT! Oh Snap! Wilson!!!

Wednesday, November 7th, 2007

Not too long ago, I ran a feature-week on The Falcon, called Falcon Week. During that time, I published the second appearance of Sam Snap Wilson that was recently added to my collection.

Luckily, I was able to obtain the final issue in this trilogy, Captain America #119. The story concludes nicely and I dig this particular origin story of The Falcon (if you follow the rest of Falcon Week, you’ll get some clue on his alternative origin story which is now part of his regular continuity).

Finally, I don’t care what anyone says, this original flavor costume is hotter than the current red-wing’d outfit. Believe that. Bahlactus has spoken.

SHOUT-OUT! Bahlactus Devours!!!

A couple of weekends ago, I attended a podcasting un-conference called Podcamp Boston 2. At an after-party on the weekend I was able to get down with plenty of socializing with Casey & Rudy from Galacticast — which is, “a weekly comedy show parodying all the worlds of geek-dom.”

Naturally I have to get down with anyone that bears a moniker Cosmic almost as funkadelic as my own (and both Casey & Rudy have more than a healthy love and respect for Comics!!!) They dig Comics so much, that they produce A Comicbook Orange. I don’t want to spoil the experience too much, but, Casey is dropping Comics clue with an original flavor so sweet it’ll make your teeth rot!!!

Speaking of sweet-tooth, Earth tastes a lot like cupcakes — at least they did when I crashed the party at Yavin IV during Halloweek™. Laugh if you want to, ain’t a damn thing funny!!! (Earth went down like a sucka — in 2 bites!!!). Bahlactus has spoken.

SHOUT-OUT! Bahlactus Devours!!!

A Comic strip about a Comics shop. You buy them every week. They sell them to you. The Rack, a webcomic masterminded by Kevin Church and drawn by Benjamin Birdie is one of the hottest strips running. Get down with their latest adventure, which features a week-long story called Halloweek™ — (guest artists all this week!!!! Cats like Marcos Perez and Pat Lewis). I wonder who else they will feature. You should also check out their cult movie throwback wallpaper. Why are you still here? Stop in on the Yavin IV Comics crew now!!! Bahlactus has spoken.

SHOUT-OUT! Bahlactus Devours!!!

Have you ever stopped to think about why, since you could actually read, have you been getting down with Comics. Endless dollars spent, issues traded, collected, cherished — a necessary and absolute part of your life? One of the main reasons I collect Comics today is not for the art, or the writing, but the entertainment value of a medium that can be reinterpreted, mashed-up, and reused (this concept has birthed original flavored content on my site like Friday Night Fights).

Whenever I come across another Comics blog that is not just another Comics news rehash, I take notice. Whether they are a high-profile Comics blogger, or an unknown (like Bahlactus), I crate dig their content and see what they are about. Today that cosmic find is Nad Shot. Naturally, this post stopped me in my tracks — immediately I issued a challenge for Comics blogger Mediozo to get down with Friday Night Fights…I can only hope he steps into the squared circle (if he does, guaranteed some of you cats are in for a beating).

In the meantime, get your ro-sham-bo! on and check out Nad Shot. You might learn (or at least feel something). Bahlactus has spoken.
